Town and Parish Councils

The Lancashire branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England relies heavily on local people to tell them about the developments proposed for their area and any concerns they may have. We believe that Town and Parish Councils have a major part to play in this process as they will have an interest in the developments in their area. One of the first steps to this is to use the information provided in the booklet "How to respond to planning applications", but some concerns may still remain and all Town and Parish Councils are welcome to contact us at any time they have a query which we could help them with.

We do ask however that Town and Parish Councils consider joining us as there are benefits in doing so:

  • Advice and information from your County Branch;
  • Co-operation on campaigns;
  • Regular seminars and conferences (at members' rate);
  • Up to date planning and countryside information;
  • Discounts on all new CPRE planning guides and conservation publications;
  • Opportunity for involvement in CPRE's national work to strengthen planning and countryside policies.

Lancashire is a magical county rich in distinctive and dramatic landscapes. CPRE has been the leading contributor to the planning and countryside debates in the county for decades. Lancashire is a more beautiful place today than it would have been without CPRE. We know that our methods work. The Branch needs to have a strong voice in order for it to effectively lobby not only at a local level but also at Westminster and Brussels. Lancashire CPRE is fortified by its members ... join us today and help us to fight to protect your countryside.
